Octavo The Australasian Centre for the Book is an educational hub for creative artisans. The organisation encompasses all forms
of book production including paper making, gilding, book binding and printing.  What Octavo needed was a strong identity that communicated its presence as contemporary, unique and reflective of the history of the book. 
The colours chosen for Octavo were taken from a study of antique leather book covers. The hues of navy and teal were
specifically chosen for their strength which communicates a contemporary tone. 
 
The leading inspiration for the symbol was the turning pages of a book. The shape of the symbol was mirrored in the ‘O’
in the logo for further significance and unity between the two.
The Octavo digital landscape includes a responsive website with an online store and
social media applications such as Facebook and Instagram.
