Composer Evan Fein wanted to modernize his website and put it on a platform that was easy for him to update and maintain himself. Evan's general idea was to have a darker color pallet, simple layout and he wanted to use photos he'd had taken and use some photos of his manuscripts. I originally proposed a modern, single page style design with parallax image backgrounds, to showcase the cool look of the manuscripts. Darker blues as the secondary color and a parchment / off white color for the main background to mirror the look of his manuscripts would be the primary color pallet. After creating a prototype of the single page design, Evan decided to go for a more traditional multipage site.
To make the site maintainable for him, I built it on top of WordPress as a theme. This gave him a simple back end for updating pages. The design uses Bootstrap and JavaScript for the scalable layout and parallax effect.
The main page of Evan's site, the About page.
The list of works Evan has written. The page uses accordions to show and hide the different section to keep the page from being overwhelming. Each individual section is it's own page on the back end for easy editing.
The Press page shown scrolled down. The main header is across all the pages and the navigation docks at the top as you scroll.

I also hosted the site, originally on Amazon AWS, and now on an independent web server. To view the live site and see more, visit http://evanfein.com
