The leaves of the Agave Americana are the inspiration for this print. Their intertwining snaky curves, and the interplay of light and shadow across the overlapping curving forms, provide a rich source of visual inspiration.
This print is a study for a larger work, planned as a colour reduction lino print, that will explore in greater detail and subtlety the interplay of colour and tone across the abstract forms of the snaky, curving, smooth and spiky leaves.
