Italian Sketchbook

In March of 2015, my husband and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary by taking our mothers with us to Florence, Italy.  For our wedding, we had eloped there, and still love it deeply.  We stayed in the same hotel, Hotel Il Bargellino, and visited Rome and Bologna, as well.  These images are a selection from the sketchbook I drew while we were there.

All of these were drawn in black Sumi ink, Sennelier raw sienna shellac ink, and Zecchi Inchiostro di China No. 6 in a 6" x 7.5" sketchbook purchased at Abacus, in Florence (alas, now closed). Zecchi is still (and hopefully will always be) in Florence, on the Via Dello Studio.  The pages are cold press Fabriano watercolor paper.
