The Final look.
200,000 particles, four stages of VB using Cebas TP with some dump particles. Two layers the internal one will turn into ashes faster.
Simulation time 1.3 hours 
Simulation data 6 GB
2 samples per frame
The Committed Ram memory use by 3ds max during caching was 25GB, so you better have some 32 GB and above if you wanna do such stuff.
