Escapism. A key, often overlooked, factor in subject selection is that of escapism. From the every day, from humankind, from conversation, confrontation, time and demand. Solitude and isolation allow for the activity to generate away from judgement other than an internal critique through self-reflection. The counter-balance to this, evokes a lonely anxiety and begs the question of purpose. Is it enough to serve one critic.
