Nan Orrock for Senate
An incumbent Senator in a major metropolitan area decides not to run for re-election, leaving an open seat and a dozen qualified people with a legitimate claim to it. Who wins the seat? Sometimes the race does go to the swift.
Nan Orrock hired the principals of Percussion Campaigns + Communications and had a campaign up and running within days of the retirement being announced. We created an identity package and a web site and arranged positive coverage of her announcement. We had mail in mailboxes promoting a listening tour before other candidates could get a toe out of their shoes to test the water.
By the time the others had filed, the Orrock campaign was running at full speed, locking up endorsements, raising money and communicating with voters in the district. Quick action kept the field narrow and well-designed, positive direct mail kept the focus on Orrock until all the votes were counted. Orrock won in a landslide.
