Wood
Chair and Skylight “Delta”
This furniture was done as a capstone project for the class Wood, which started with the idea of designing a floor inspired in the artist and designer Elsa Stroski, but due to its complexity and magnitude, the floor could only be made for art exhibitions and a new proposal was defined. The new proposal sated to develop a chair preserving the concept of the artist Elsa Stroski, by designing the chair with triangles made in relief, sinking into the surface of the chair using any kind of pressure over it. For that purpose, the help and collaboration of the artisan Eduardo Calderón Martínes was necessary, and also he´s workshop and new tools. For the elaboration of the furniture, we used triplex due to its low cost and we cover it with “Flor Morado” plywood. The triangles were handmade, increasing the difficulty of the standardization of the process and precluding that all the triangles remain with the same seize and measurements. Finally, the plywood boards were joined together, and the interior was filled with foam so the triangles could sink in the foam using any kind of pressure over them.
Finishes:
For the chair: sanding up to 600, acrylic paint in different shades of blue and sanding up to 400 and finally, beeswax. The Skylight finishes were only using beeswax and sanding until 400.

Madera
Silla y Claraboya “Delta”
Este proyecto fue realizado como trabajo final del medio A: Madera, el cual fue licitado en un principio como un piso inspirando en la artista y diseñadora Elsa Stroski, este llevaria los triángulos salidos, y al pisarlos se hundirían en la madera. Sin embargo, esto fue modificado, ya que como un piso seria unicamente para exposiciones por su complejidad. Teniendo en cuenta lo anterior, esta propuesta fue replanteada como una silla que conservaría la idea de los triángulos, que en este caso se hundirían al sentarse. Para esto se conto con la ayuda de El artesano, Jairo Eduardo Calderón Martínez, y el trabajo en el taller de el con nuevas herramientas para nosotros. Para la realizacion del mueble, se utilizo triplex para que los costos disminuyeran, y este fue forrado con chapilla de flor morado. Los triángulos fueron hechos a mano, lo cual fue lo mas complicado durante el proceso, no se logro que todos quedaran completamente iguales. Para finalizar, las tablas de madera enchapada se pegaron entre si, y el interior se lleno con espuma para que los triangulos se pudieran hundir al sentarse.
Acabados:
Estos fueron para la silla, lijado hasta 600, pintura acrílica de diferentes tonos de azules y lijado hasta 400, y por ultimo, cera de abejas. Para la claraboya únicamente se utilizo cera de abejas y lijado hasta 400.
