Whilst studying at Cleveland College of Art and Design, This table was my Final Major Project. I used Natural, Organic shapes as my inspiration for the design, and tried to keep clear from what already existed on the market and what a table is supposed to look like.
My inspiration for this table lead me to the organic shapes of plants and flowers. The shape is very similiar to that of a flowerbud slowly opening.
In the making process, I produced foam moulds to bend and glue 3mm plywood into the shapes i desired. After cutting and sanding them, i used a orange and white laminate for the surface which i think contrasts nicely. The color theme of this product was inspired by the work of Marc Newson.
