MUGB is a Minneapolis based hip hop group consisting of Jared Courtney, Jordan Tucker, Kellen Dalbey and Kellen Bongartz, better known on stage as Des Da Scribe, J Tuck, Kontakt and Kine Da Lush. While in the process of recording their latest album, MUGB approached me to art direct and design the album art in addition to revamping their logo and illustrating a secondary mark for use on various swag. They wanted a modern design that still conveyed the gritty and classic sound of their music and lifestyle, which is rooted in the underground hip hop scene. Through custom typography, illustration and lifestyle photography we were able to caption the essence of what MUGB stands for.
