Sibyl is a smartphone app attempting to alleviate some of the stress points of shared living, using technology for collective action to create a platform for self governance.

 

This project is based around the design and implementation of a mobile application and basic infrastructure to manage such a common-pool resource in order to test collective agreement of rule based systems and self organisation of communal rules in an attempt to create a more enjoyable student accommodation sharing living experience. We seek to investigate the effectiveness of a technological aid in working towards a harmonious state of equilibrium in shared living space as in instance of technology for collective action. By addressing issues with each other's living habits at an early stage as well as encouraging open discussion we hope this system will help prevent the escalation of small annoyances to large falling outs.
