The SportPesa festival is a one day culture and music event held in Kenya's capital city. My role in this project was logo design, art direction and graphic design for material for use in promotion of the festival. I worked together with award winning photographer Thandiwe Muriu for the artist photographs used in this campaign.  I then created the layout for several print, broadcast and digital mediums. 

The logo features a mask in the shape of the African continent. This is to portray that the festival proudly celebrates African culture. There's also a lady clad in African attire blowing on a horn. This is symbolic of the African culture and a rallying call for  all to join in the celebration.

I begun by sketching out the elements on paper with biro pen. This is my quickest way to express ideas as I conceptualise. I then refined the concept in Adobe Illustrator and coloured it in the same software. A colourful and happy theme was the direction of this project. "Add a Happy Beat!"
