Power to Become (P2B) - 2015

Project Overview
Power to Become (P2B) is a high-energy professional development conference put on by the BYU-Idaho Alumni office. The goal was to bring notable Alumni back to campus to speak, share and help students to discover their passion, tell their story, and network effectively.

To do this Power to Become wanted to create more awareness of their brand with a strong marketing campaign that would bring excitement and energy to the conference to attract students to attend.

My Role
My role was to lead in the creation of a marketing campaign and design promotional posters, t-shirts, business cards, e-mails, and website.

My Process
With this project I needed to create excitement and deliver a message about what this conference was about and when it would be. To do this I would create promotional material and survey individuals about what the first things they read on them was and what information they gathered. Through this process the promotional material evolved into a clean design that grabs attention and the communicated when the conference was and where students could go to learn more and buy tickets.
Challenges
The challenge with this project really came from how to create enough excitement around this event to get students to buy a ticket and give up a Friday evening to come and listen to Alumni offer advice about professional development and networking.
Outcome
The outcome of this project was a conference that proved to be highly successful. About 2000 students were in attendance, with it receiving a 4 out 5 rating from an after conference survey. The survey asked about the overall conference as well as individual speakers. The Speakers were rated highly and most said they would attend another Power to Become Conference. The result was the recurrence of this conference yearly.
