Project: Nature & Us
Environmental issues have become a great concern for mankind at present time as these issues are affecting and will affect earth and us badly. As such, there are quite a number of environmentalists or movement either government or non-governmental trying and fight the injustice human commit towards earth.
As part of that initiative this project intends to encourage us, the architecture students to do our part by producing a poster and a reflective journal that reflects these concerns and to part of the change for a better world with their creative thoughts.
1. Nature and Us Environmental Poster
We have to form a group of 3 members, which my group members are Kelvin Fong and Ng Yuheng to produce an A2 size colored poster suitable for exhibition on creating environmental awareness in general public. Ideas, images and content for our poster are to be linked to our exploration on the environmental issues and reflection. Poster with information, data and graphics is created and designed in a creative manner, originality and have a strong environmental message. In our team, we chose to convey about the message of traffic congestions problems in Kuala Lumpur that has been affected the citizens' living standards with a list of suitable way to actually solve this problem with the cooperation of all sides especially the government and the citizens themselves.
2. Reflective and Research Essay
We have been exploring and writing on current environmental issues relating it to the people and built environment, and especially in the case of congestions on the road in Kuala Lumpur to further investigate the ways of improvement for this situation. As this essay is built upon personal experience, knowledge and research, we at the same time, do not let a focus on creativity take precedence over the important task of proving to our reader how we have grown to understand the fine balance between nature and us.
This reflective and research essay has not only shown our creativity on the ideas of solving problems, but more importatntly, the statistics provided by the governent and current situation we are facing are very frustrated for the drivers at the peak hours on weekdays. We sincerely hope that this situation will be improved day by day to again ameliorate the living quality of our citizens in the future.
