Electric Peacock Festival- Installations

painting being lit up with UV lights at the festival site
Closeup of DjSquidlight. was taken before the tron-like lines were painted on
DjSquidlight at the VIP area before the event.
the base of the squid. we used scrap wood and some spare pvc pipe to build the structure. then wrapped it up with chicken mesh.
the structure then had to be covered with cloth, for us to paper-mache it. the paper didn't cling onto the surface of the chicken mesh directly, so we had to resort to covering it tight, with cloth and then putting paper ontop of it.
Once the Octopus head was covered in paper-mache (right) we started building the tentacles using scrap wood. but instead of using chicken mesh to cover it up, we used old cardboard to cover the area. this was then overlaid with paper-mache
Teamwork: we all realised we couldn't have done it without each other. its amazing how a bunch of people from different backgrounds, can come together and pull off something like this.
Boyscouts will save the planet: its amazing how my whole team comprises of teenagers, yet they worked the wood, hammer and nails like a skilled carpenter. some of them are boyscouts, which explained alot. nevertheless, the most comitted team i've ever worked with.
