Among my favourite aspects of photography is the effect that lights at night and cars on the road produce when the camera is set to long exposure. This effect is apparent in the above image, where light from car headlights creates trails over the course of a 20-second exposure.

Split-second moments in time require a certain amount of luck, skill and determination to readily capture, but are often worth it for they show us a world that is otherwise obscured by its instantaneous nature.
