Synopsis
The purpose of the original school was to accommodate students with learning difficulties. Recent years has seen the school population evolve and expand to include students with special needs and specific teaching requirements, in particular students with physical disabilities.  

Proposed scheme
The existing site of the school (circa. 1.6ha) is located in a rural setting is classed as a ‘special area of conservation’. The proposed extension is 694sq.m in area and consists of an unconventional and high-end fit-out of specialist equipment and services provision.                 
New accommodation provided will be as follows: 4 new classrooms & support accommodation, Sensory integration room, Multi-sensory room, Life skills room, external garden space, covered entrance walkway, the re-organization of the car parking layout, and dedicated bus set-down spaces.
