This fall I was very fortunate to have been instructed in techniques of strawbale construction. It was an amazing experience to be able to witness the construction of sustainable housing design for the Pinoleville Pomo Nation.
 
My participation in this project began my freshman year in the course E10: Engineering Design and Analysis and I continued participating in this project as a researcher as a member of CARES: Community Assessment of Renewable Energy and Sustainability.

plaster composition: 12% clay, 60-70% clay, and 18-20% fiber. A recipe for success.
all done! now time to warm up the hands
love the texture. Now to just wait 3 weeks for it to dry then plastering part II. can't wait!
