In this project it is essential to note that fashion is an artistic expression; it is not necessarily a functional and commercial commodity. Fashion can become like architecture in that simple functions are made elaborate with detail and design. This allows for the celebration of these simple functions. Wearing clothing creates an exciting and imperative form of self-expression. ‘form follows function’ is not a concept with which this design simply complies. Through design, forms potentially compliment and change the body. By bringing form, structure and materiality together in a new manner, an unconventional movement in fashion is suggested.
