Museum of African Design
The initatial brief was to design and craete a designer maker bar stool withing the frameworks and expens of R600
The concept idea i looked at was the idea of wood and metal and how they work together. looking at the idea of how these materials interact with each other and how they compliment one another. Precedents looked at large heavy metal sections and the use of wood in different contexts as a stool.
Initial Concept development
There completely different concept directions were looked at, Concept 1;the idea of metal sections with a bent wood base. Concept 2; using metal square tubing to build up the frame of the chair with a wooden seat within a metal frame. Concept 3; used the idea of metal sections with a wooden base.
