Logo
I went with the red "A" because its always been the face of the company and I didn't want to turn away from that legacy or give the impression that they are a different company. I added the lightning bolt to the right side of the A to give it a dynamic feel and character. It also suggests the trade of electrican with out saying it. With the circle background and the gradiant from dark to light it is symbolic of lighting or brightening, again suggesting the electrical aspect of the company. There is good contrast between the red of the A and the white gray background.
Business Card
The black background provides contrast to the logo and text. The text is spaced to make it easy to read and have related information near each other. It is aligned on the left margin to make the information easy to locate in a traditional location, and uses the same typeface throughout for consistancy. There is an overall circular movement to it moving from the text to the QR code to the logo and back to the text. The text is somewhat wrapped around the logo to further solidify the circular motion.
Envelope
I was intentionally keeping this simple. The logo next to the return address makes it interesting and instantly recognizable without going over the top. Same goes for the other side of the envelope where I aligned the logoin the center of the envelope. Again, the same typeface is used for consistancy.
Letter Head
The heading of the logo and company name stand out but are still simple and professional. Having the phone/fax and web/email information at the bottom of the page make it easy to find and gives the information needed to contact the company right when the information is needed at the end of the content. Like information has been grouped, specifically the phone/fax and the web/email addresses.
Ads
With the magazine ad the dark blue of the background contrasts wtih the red text making it standout and easier to read. This is also true with the logo causing it to stand out. In both ads, the text is consistantly the same font for the business, and is the same white as  the lightling for cohesion. Everything is centered in the ads to give a clean, balanced feel.
