“YES AND” is an interactive story book.
It is named after one of the key principles of improvisation whereby no matter what is suggested, the actor’s role is to accept it and add to it.

This transposable attitude offers a simple and open approach to collaboration.
It puts participants in equal footing, each idea informing the next.

As a result, the story is built on a combined path built through a succession of individual steps.

 

Each participant is asked to read the last sentence of the story, pick a card and add to it following an instruction. The participants are faced with two levels of constraints. The challenge is to both make up a convincing story based on what the previous participant’s sentence and include two words dictated by the construction cards.
