Pal, as a wearable device, gives visually impaired wearer vibration or voice feedback of the forthcoming object’s position (2 vibrating device to notify situations on the left and the right, along with additional audio alert of whether the obstacle is close to wearer’s head or torso).
Pal also provides object/product identification and notifying service. By holding the item to the Kinect cam, the system would run a quick search and give the wearer a clear idea of the product’s detail labeling and info. The design aims to help the visually impaired leads a gradually convenient, and independent life.
