A Pirate I Was Born To Be

Humble beginnings. I generally hate this part of the process because I'm trying to get the idea out of my head while simultaneously responding to what I'm drawing and making edits.
I had completed this drawing, then woke up the next day with a host of edits and adjustments in mind.
Joy! Inking is my favorite part of the drawing process. I've noticed a trend where my pencils are getting looser and looser and I'm making more on-the-fly decisions while inking.

I generally ink with Sakura Micron pens: 005 for the most part, along with 01 and 02 for thicker outlines.
A good start for an afternoon's work.
Managed to squeeze in a couple of hours' work on a weeknight.
Over the course of a Sunday I inked the mandible and adjusted the earlier bonework.
Capitaine Lafitte has the same hairdresser as Captain Hook. I love being able to mix stippling, hatching, pen and brush in a work. These locks were drawn with an 01 Micron, though (almost used a brush).
