When I was dreaming of living in America, one of the ways I got to imagine myself there was through looking at photographs.
Photographs have this magical ability to transport you anywhere. You just have to imagine yourself in the photographer’s shoes. Imagine what they were thinking, how they were standing, what were they feeling when they were taking the photo. What did the photographer see that they thought was worth taking a picture of?

This is what I envisioned the International Center of Photography to be. I wanted to make it a space where you can imagine yourself in another person’s shoes through the photographs that they take.
