Nubra Valley is in Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is primarily accessible via the town of Leh. It is a high altitude cold desert with almost no vegetation except near the river banks.
Altitude: 10000ft (3000m).
Although the valley itself is lower, it sits in between high mountain ranges and the passes are higher than 15000ft. The highest motorable road - Khardung-La at approx 18600ft (5600m) is one of the ways to get here.
The valley is fed by two rivers - Shyok from the left and Nubra straight ahead. The valley is massive and pictures really dont do justice to it. Standing at the places below makes us realise how small we are against nature.
To get to this place, the most common route is from Leh through the world's highest motorable road at approx 18860ft (5600m). The roads are constantly swept away by nature and requires rebuilding.
Hope you enjoyed the pictures as much as I liked taking them. Browse through the other albums for more pictures from Ladakh. - Harish
