Edit: Thanks to your donations, we were able to print 500 copies of our first issue! We're currently preparing the second edition and need donations. Help us out so we can show you the amazing hidden talent of the photographers we show off! http://paragonzine.tictail.com

The idea behind Paragon photozine is to have a small pocketable photography publication that unfolds into a big 42cm x 42cm format poster.

We want to make it easier for talented photographers to get their work published and in the hands of people on the streets.

Here are the different design ideas we went through before printing our first edition.
To get the ideas flowing, we started off by playing around with paper cutout triangles and arranging them in different patterns and different backgrounds
Since the format of the publication is squared, we started combining geometric shapes to make a grid to follow for text layout, design element positions and photos.
We then filled in the triangles with our signature red and blue colours, created groups of triangles, and rotated them around a central axis to overlap shapes and colour creating something we quite like.
Pictures, text a few more design elements were then added. However, the text layout did not work well with the design and was too distracting, so we decided to remove some triangles, shorten and remove some text
