Bundle Sconce
A little lamp that creates a large impression
This project was a simple exploration into lamp creation. I wanted a hallway lamp that was small and simple, but created a large impression. This lamp does that on many levels and most obvious example of this is the striking pattern the light throws onto the wall. It travels from ceiling to floor and morphs from light to dark. While the lamp shade itself is simple, it’s as interesting as the light patterns it creates. As you get closer, the lamp itself draws you in, as the wood grain seems to glow and showcases the beauty of the natural wood.

The custom base for the Bundle Lamp is made from Baltic Birch plywood and was cut by me on an Epilog Helix laser. Designed as a three part base, it can be configured two different ways, allowing the lamp shade to be used with an “uno” or a “pendant” lamp socket. By doing this, the lamp can be used as a hanging pendant, a wall scone, a table lamp, or mounted onto an existing lamp base.
