Letterform with Pattern Component
By taking the basic shapes that make up the letter form and compiling them, then arranging them in a radial design, I was able to create the main component to be repeated in the pattern.

The challenge that this particular word presented itself with was the question of how to illustrate "Basic", a word that means simple and stripped down, in a way that was interesting and eye catching across different media forms.
