Welcome to Imi Ola, a beach park environment located on the Waikiki beach strand, in  Honolulu, Hawaii. I decided to focus on way finding signage and placemaking, to elegantly blend the designs into nature, as well as city environment. Imi Ola translates to “Seeking the best life” in Hawaiian, which is what we are all trying to do on the beach in Hawaii.

By using Polynesian patterns, colors, elements and language in the design, I aimed to honor the indigenous aspects to the islands, encouraging unity among visitors and locals.
