Atin - Brand Identity Design

Atin is the story of two generations of woodworkers. The old and the new.
The tree rings can look like shining bodies of concentric circles when viewed from afar. We iterated the different possible ways of illustrating this mark but ultimately, we wanted to create something that was distinct and memorable yet simple and replicable.

We made a 10 x 10 grid with 3 concentric circles, the innermost circle being a 2 x 2 solid circle, and the two outer circles being 1x outline thick with a 1x spacing between each of the circles. The outermost circle is distorted with a smooth effect to mimic the bark of a tree while the inner circles are retained in their original form to represent the tree rings.
To further make the mark distinct, we cut out a quarter of the mark to make it look like a logged wood. This mark, we believed, adequately represents the flexibility of the uses of wood and the years it would go with them.

This mark is paired with the Playfair Display Regular font
and the Campton fonts as its typefaces. Adequately giving credence to the pretigious and the modern. A tropical green and light brown colour are chosen as the brand colours.
The full logo was then put together to read “Made by Atin” as all products are personalised
and specific
The Iconography system is built from minimalist lines on 10 x 10 grids which when put together with the existent structure gives a modern look to the brand.
The Atin pattern was created by putting together the original quadrants which the logo was made from to give a feel that is completely African
