3 Day UI/UX Case Study

I was tasked by a potential employee to do a case study interview within 3 days. I have carefully documented the process to show how I started and finished it.

Let's begin by talking about the case:
Bank M, a prominent retail bank, is developing an app tailored for the unbanked and underbanked populations in emerging economies. The goal? To offer a highly personalized financial management solution. With a focus on reaching younger, millennial demographics, the app aims to bridge the gap for those who might feel wary of traditional banking systems and find banking terminology intimidating. Through this app, users will have access to fundamental banking services such as transactions and savings (known as CASA). Additionally, they'll receive personalized recommendations for Bank M's financial products, along with practical tips to enhance their financial management skills. The app also includes tools for investment and savings, empowering users to make informed decisions about their finances.

After quickly understanding the brief, I began to plan out the design process to avoid skipping importance steps and focusing on the wrong/irrelevant things especially with this time constraint.
My design process, I did refer to references online.
Next, I crafted my problem statement and aims to keep on track for what I need to look for when conducting my research and data collection.
For context, Sustaina Bank is the name I gave in place of Bank M. This was to help me have a better feel on what the app would be like and represent.
I started searching online for information regarding this topic by asking necessary questions like "what are the main causes of young millennials not trusting traditional banks ?", "why do people in developing countries distrust digital banks ?", to cover as much ground as possible. All my information was gathered from case studies, expert analyses, white papers, and academic research provided in-depth insights into user experiences, expectations, and cultural contexts.

Now that I had my info/data, I separated them into qualitative and quantitative data while highlighting their main key insights. I had to cut down on some points and choose the issues I wanted to work on, to not overwhelm myself for my user insights drafts. Having clear points would also help me with better visualisation of what the aim of the app will be. Below were my main findings, do note that the way I listed my data was rather unclear on the quantitative side, thus, in the future I hope to improve on this.
I continued on with the user persona and journey map which will be referred when making my lo-fi wireframes, so that I don't miss out on functions I highlighted for the user's needs.
Once this was done, I had to come up with my Lo-Fi frames. I decided to sketch them out instead of doing them digitally as it was faster. Sketching gave me a clearer view on what elements where needed, unnecessary, and things I could simplify. Looking at inspiration on Pinterest, Behance, Dribbble etc. were helpful too.
Thus, began the journey of me making the Hi-Fi frames, I used Figma for this. I wasn't super well versed with it but I found it so easy to use and hope to improve my understanding of it. When making the frames, a lot of reiteration occurred. I cross checked everything from the data to user journey to make sure I was delivering what Anita (my persona) wanted.
Lastly, I made a SWOT analysis of Sustaina Bank and future recommendations for both short and long term plans.
Overall, there's many things I could nick-pick on for sure but given the time challenge, I'm happy and am proud. I learned where I could improve on from my technical skills and soft skills. This is just the stepping stone to many future UI/UX projects.
