TITUS GROAN is the first book in the Gormenghast Castle trilogy. All illustrations are made in the grattage technique. The book's design was inspired by medieval tapestries and stained glass windows. The main motives of the illustrations: the life and interior of the castle and its awkward inhabitants. My goal is to convey the atmosphere of madness and absurdity characteristic of the works
of Marwyn Peake

The idea of the composition of the illustration is inspired by comics. In each individual block,
you can see a small plot that is part
of the overall picture.
An example is three reversals,
which are a triptych.
They are united by composition and plot.
