36 Days of Type 2024: Inexorable Code

36 Days of Type: Inexorable Code
Tim Bresolin, 2024.
Inspiration and Ideation came from:

David Rudnick, Post-Apocalyptic Grindcore album artwork, Cyberpunk aesthetic, Brutalist architecture, User Interface design origins, and visuals in movies such as Alien that use old CGI to display futuristic user interfaces.

My alphabet is to reflect the lifelessness of type created digitally, such as bitmap effects, dithering, pixelated type effects etc and overlaying that onto classic print typefaces from the past, to simulate the overtaking of lifeless, technological advancement and the absence of anything hand made.
I reconstituted one of David Rudnick's typefaces, redesigned with a dot matrix style, overlayed onto a Bodoni style serif typeface. As this was a TAFE assessment, I will not be creating a typeface, especially as it's directly inspired by existing typefaces.
