Grande Traversata Elbana (GTE)
Camminare è un atto di volontà. L'ho capito bene dopo quasi dieci anni di cammini e traversate. Oltre al piacere del viaggio, un cammino è fatto di sacrificio, forza di volontà, momenti di sconforto ma anche di grande soddisfazione.
In questo breve progetto fotografico, ho voluto mettere l'attenzione anche a quei momenti di sospensione e necessario riposo che sono fondamentali per riorganizzare le idee e riprendere il viaggio. Oltre che al bellissimo paesaggio dell'isola dell'Elba e all'atto del camminare immersi nello stesso.
Walking is an act of willpower. I understood this well after nearly ten years of walks and crossings. Besides the pleasure of the journey, a walk is made up of sacrifice, willpower, moments of discouragement, but also of great satisfaction.
In this short photographic project, I wanted to draw attention to those moments of suspension and necessary rest that are crucial for reorganizing ideas and resuming the journey. As well as the beautiful landscape of the Island of Elba and the act of walking immersed in it.

Le fotografie raccontano la Grande Traversata Elbana anche semplicemente detta GTE che rappresenta l’itinerario più significativo della rete escursionistica dell’isola d’Elba.
Si tratta di una dorsale che si sviluppa in circa 60 km e collega la maggior parte dei sentieri elbani, permettendo di osservare l’incredibile varietà geologica, vegetazionale e morfologica dell’isola.
The photographs depict the Grande Traversata Elbana, also simply known as GTE, which represents the most significant itinerary of the hiking network on the Island of Elba.
It's a ridge that stretches for about 60 km, connecting most of the trails on Elba, allowing one to observe the incredible geological, vegetational, and morphological variety of the island.

Vorrei ringraziare i miei compagni di viaggio che oltre ad essere i personaggi chiave del racconto, lo sono anche per la realizzazione di questi cammini. Nello specifico Stefano è l’organizzatore del viaggio, grazie a lui il resto della ciurma deve solo camminare e sganciare il bonifico delle spese, mentre il mitico Thomas è l’esperto, con lui farai tanti ma tanti kilometri, ma ti sentirai sempre le spalle coperte.
Quanto a me, oltre a decantare il camminare come una gran fatica, sono il narratore del viaggio, se quei due avranno splendidi ricordi sarà anche un po' merito mio.
I would like to thank my travel companions who, in addition to being the key characters of the story, are also essential for the realization of these walks. Specifically, Stefano is the organizer of the trip; thanks to him, the rest of the crew only has to walk and pay their share of expenses, while the legendary Thomas is the expert. With him, you'll cover many, many kilometers, but you'll always feel supported. As for me, besides extolling walking as a great effort, I am the narrator of the journey. If those two will have splendid memories, it will also be partly thanks to me.
