Music Poster Project: Spring 2024 | EPIC: The Musical x Psychedelia

For this project, we were asked to create a poster for a musical act of our choice in one of four Graphic Design styles of old: Bauhaus, Constructivism, Hatch Show Print, and Psychedelia.

I combined Psychedelia with one of my favorite musical acts, Epic: The Musical, a retelling of The Odyssey. I created an illustration heavy poster, using a maximalist attitude with Psychedelia as my design style. The poster features the "villains" of the story, and the eye is drawn down to Odysseus himself, highlighted in red to show that he is the real villain in his own story. I enjoyed filling this poster with symbolism!

For the physical poster, I hand finished it by adding foil to the trident, adding one last pop of visual interest to this vital story element, the weapon of choice for one of the main antagonists, the sea god Poseidon. Overall, I had a blast creating this project!
