Originaly aired in 1993 (and which recently received a remake) the history begins with the main character José Inocêncio making his pact with the Jequitibá tree, in a scene that would become one of the most iconic on Brazilian Tv. The text says that neither he nor the tree will die while the machete is stuck at the roots of the Jequitibá.
