This project was developed for the Distributed Database Management and Data Warehousing university module. Built using Java and the JavaFX library, this application enables students to borrow and return books, pay off book loans, and view the total amount of fines paid in a specified month. Additionally, the university's decision-makers can measure specified university metrics. The project demonstrates the application of three-tier architecture, the utilisation of both a NoSQL database (MongoDB) and a relational database (Oracle SQL), the implementation of database dimensional modeling (star schema), and the utilisation of indexes and bind variables.
