• Understand which functionalities can be useful for the caregiver in order to improve care for the elderly and, at the same time, communication between them
.
Objetive:
To gather insights from caregivers on improving the value and functionality of the caregiver app.

Interviews Debriefing
Analysing interviews insights, synthesizing findings and identifying priorities
The caregiver interviews gave us a much clearer vision of the way forward to make the "Caregiver App" a much more useful tool for them than just monitoring the senior's activities.

To refine the insights, I created an impact/effort matrix so that, as a team, we could review and analyze the results together, synthesize key findings, identify and prioritize the recommendations through their impact on use and usability and also through the implementation effort.
After that, it was decided that the ideal way to start improving the "Caregiver App" would be by integrating the reminders/check-in feature for the senior.
.
I started to define which opportunities and threads of this feature so I can understand what needs to be addressed.

Main opportunities:                            Main threads:
- Improve Care Coordination                                              - User Privacy and Security concerns
- Increase Independence for Seniors                                 - Technical issues and dependences
- Enhance Caregiver Support and Peace of Mind              - User interface and accessibility challenge
- Personalize and Tailored Reminders                                - Overwhelm or Confusion for Seniors
- Improve Medication Adherence and Health Outcomes    - Dependency on technology and support

COMMUNICATION   •   PRIVACY MANAGEMENT   •   PERSONALIZED INFORMATION
_____________________________________
Communication
The reminders should be answered by the senior on their tablet so caregiver can be sure that the senior has seen it and understood the information.

Privacy Management
The reminders feature should have a privacy settings and management area so that it is possible to make them private or public to the rest of the app's users.

Personalized Information
Reminders should have a free text area so that they can be customized according to the needs of each senior, including the response options presented to the senior

Creating the Feature Flow
_____________________________________
For this project I felt the need to create a flow where can be shown all integrated product dependencies and all necessary communication paths of the reminder between the app (caregiver) and the tablet (senior.

Creating a Low-fi Wireflow
_____________________________________
After understanding the impact of the Reminders features in the Caregiver app and all dependencies on all devices of the SENINC product, it was necessary to create a visual flow of the feature in order to understand what screens or components should be added and which ones should be improved, redesigned and changed.
In this way, I was able to validate the user flows with the team, understand whether the structure of the UIs was technically possible and we could make decisions together about the implementation and the technical problems that might arise.

User Interface
_____________________________________
At this stage, I focused on designing and developing the visual elements, layout, components, and interactions that users interact with and experience within the caregiver application. Although the visual design of the app were already created, I tried to achieve creating intuitive, accessible, and aesthetically pleasing interfaces that enhance usability, engagement, and satisfaction by effectively presenting, organizing, and facilitating user interactions, navigation, and tasks in a clear, consistent, and user-friendly manner that aligns with user needs, preferences, and goals effectively.

Learnings
_____________________________________
The Reminders feature user flow project for the Caregiver App of the SENINC product has provided valuable insights and learnings about emphasizes the importance of adopting an inclusive, empathetic, and user-centered design approach to create accessible, intuitive, engaging, and meaningful user interfaces and experiences that cater to the diverse needs, preferences, and challenges of seniors effectively.
These learnings highlight the significance of prioritizing accessibility, simplifying complexity, enhancing clarity, promoting engagement and satisfaction, and fostering trust and credibility in designing digital solutions, interfaces, and experiences that empower, support, and enrich the lives of seniors by facilitating independence, connectivity, and quality of life in the digital age responsibly and thoughtfully.
