In the Wake of Alexander Csoma de Körös
In 1819 Alexander Csoma de Körös set out on foot with little money to find the alleged Hungarian motherland behind the ranges of the Himalaya. Despite huge struggles he never reached his destination, however on his way he explored the Tibetan language and literature and wrote the first Tibetan-English dictionary, making him one of the greatest researchers of this field.
Csoma lived one and a half year (20th of June 1823 - 22nd of Octobre1824) in the royal palace in Zangla (Himalaya, Tibet) where he studied the teachings of Buddha in Tibetan language and later he wrote the Tibetan-English dictionary which opened the teachings of Buddha to the world.
