Fear - Illustration

Concept:
This illustration set visualises panic and fear. A mark heavy, textured approach was used to create movement through out the series, to overwhelm the viewer, and in turn eliciting an emotional response.

Skeletal horses charge across a space filled with eyes and ink, restless and perpetually in motion, fleeing from a malignant entity. India ink is blown, flicked, and dotted across the main subject matter to emphasise the frenetic energy and emotion. Ever watchful eyes fill up negative spaces and allude to the discomfort that one may feel through being perceived, a discomfort that often has a physical weight and presence behind it.

"Eyes rolling, teeth bared// the horses never found their way home// never saw the bends in the road// only the curve of a restless lidded eye opening// only the pits of dark pupils narrowing"
