"CONCENTRICO 07 - International Architecture and Design Festival of Logroño"
Design of the Pavilion at Plaza Escuelas Trevijano:
This competition aims to create an information pavilion as a landmark for the festival, serving as the starting point for tours and activities. It will be a meeting space that innovatively showcases how urban areas have become a vital reference for coexistence during the current pandemic. The pavilion will be located in Plaza Escuelas Trevijano, between Once de Junio and Portales streets, near the buildings of the Ibercaja Cultural Center and the Logroño Tourism Office (former Escuelas Trevijano).
"CONNECTION REFUGE"
Since late 2019 and throughout 2020, the entire world has undergone a significant change, revolving around a central theme: Covid-19. Some have been perilously close, while others further away and safe, share the same fear, for themselves, for their friends, for their family. The only thing that has kept us afloat to overcome the hurdles imposed by this pandemic has been our capacity for adaptation, growth, and the connections we have created and reinforced. We have learned to "be close without touching," only through the internet, a phone call, a round of applause for our doctors and healthcare workers; where public spaces have ceased to be simply "city places" to become refuges and starting points for other forms of interaction, even with people we do not know. These points from which we have begun to weave a new network that unites us, being points of organization and collection for humanitarian aid from which thousands of volunteers depart to assist families who have survived thanks to these displays of HUMANITY.
The pavilion placed in Plaza Escuelas Trevijano will be a space for small performances, as a meeting point and the beginning of the journey. The proposal rises to capture the attention of users and is part of the structural synthesis of two cubes; they show our equal conditions and the fragility of our existence regardless of our position in society. Two basic, transparent forms, which due to the conditions imposed by the pandemic, cannot be physically touched; they only connect by a network formed by threads. Each one is a life that crosses and intertwines with the other. While surrounding the pavilion from the outside, we can see the chaos and complexity of forms created by these connections; from within, in an abstraction of a public park, crowned with an escape point at the apex, we feel wrapped up to take a breath, where the different festival information is displayed hanging from the network.

Diseño del Pabellón en Plaza Escuelas Trevijano:
Este concurso tiene como objeto la creación de un pabellón de información como hito del festival, punto de partida de los recorridos y de las actividades. Un espacio de encuentro que muestre de forma innovadora cómo los espacios urbanos se han convertido en una referencia fundamental para la convivencia durante la pandemia actual.Se situará en la Plaza Escuelas Trevijano, en el espacio comprendido entre las calles Once de Junio y Portales, y los edificios del Centro Cultural Ibercaja y la Oficina de Turismo de Logroño (Antiguas Escuelas Trevijano).
"REFUGIO DE CONEXIÓN"
Desde finales del año 2019 hasta todo el 2020, el mundo entero ha experimentado un cambio radical, centrado en un tema principal: la Covid-19. Algunos han estado expuestos al peligro de cerca, mientras que otros más distantes y seguros comparten el mismo temor por ellos mismos, por sus amigos y por sus familias. Lo único que nos ha mantenido a flote para superar los desafíos impuestos por esta pandemia ha sido nuestra capacidad de adaptación, crecimiento y las conexiones que hemos creado y reforzado. Hemos aprendido a "estar cerca sin tocarnos", ya sea a través de Internet, una llamada telefónica o aplausos en honor a nuestros médicos y personal sanitario. Los espacios públicos ya no son simplemente lugares en la ciudad, sino que se han convertido en refugios y puntos de partida para nuevas formas de interacción, incluso con personas desconocidas. Estos lugares han servido como puntos de organización y almacenamiento para la distribución de ayuda humanitaria, desde donde miles de voluntarios parten para brindar asistencia a familias que han sobrevivido gracias a estas muestras de solidaridad.
El pabellón situado en la plaza Escuelas Trevijano será un espacio para realizar pequeñas representaciones, además de ser un punto de encuentro e inicio del recorrido. La propuesta se eleva para captar la atención de los visitantes y consiste en la síntesis estructural de dos cubos, que representan nuestra igualdad de condiciones y la fragilidad de nuestra existencia, sin importar nuestra posición en la sociedad. Estas dos formas básicas, transparentes, no pueden tocarse físicamente debido a las condiciones impuestas por la pandemia; solo se conectan mediante una red formada por hilos. Cada hilo representa una vida que se cruza y se entrelaza con otra. Mientras rodeamos el pabellón desde el exterior, podemos observar el caos y la complejidad de las formas que se crean con estas conexiones. Sin embargo, desde dentro, experimentamos una abstracción de un parque público, coronado con un punto de escape en la cúspide, donde nos sentimos arropados para tomar un respiro.
