Endangered Species DataVis
My data visualisations represent the growth in critically endangered species from 1998 to 2022 based on data from the IUCN. The designs have been created with Instagram in mind - they are square in shape and use large text, maintaining a coherent style. The imagery mimics the way animals are collaged together in an encyclopedia. This theme is paired with the use of Baskerville, a sophisticated, serif typeface. Editing my imagery has allowed me to rely on colour to send a message, green to represent nature and red to represent danger. The movement within my data visualisation intends to catch the eye of my audience, without the need to over complicate the design.
