The Tanatorium is designed according to monumental and symbolic criteria in order to honor the memory of deceased people. A rocky container made of white concrete models an hermetic interior space opening skylights filtered with wooden louvers. The sunlight incidence draws different shadows inside the building along the daytime and the season, representing the metaphor of the time passing.

The site, besides the Ebro river, is surrounded by a pine forest, and the building relates connects to it through the entrance and outside sequences of circulation. A green roof covers the whole surface with aromatic native plants.
