Mascot Design for Monkey Wrench

Mascot Design for Monkey Wrench
Monkey Wrench is a graphic design agency based in Calcutta, They asked our firm, Karu, to design a mascot for their brand. We were supposed to design a monkey figurine in stone, which would be used as the official mascot of the brand.
I started sketching random ideas.
I like the traditional style of sketching with pencil on a sketchbook...
Makes explorations much more fluid and free for me
The client saw these and said their monkey needed a little more character..
may be leaning towards smug
Finally! The client liked the last one. The tail of the monkey is coiled, and it's sitting and meditating on it, like Lord Hanuman. The shape of its eyes is drived from the
Monkey Wrench logo.
The design team of Monkey Wrench, our client, thought this monkey was the ideal depiction for their mascot, and so the design was sent for production.
It was carved in pink soapstone in Odissa.
The soapstone figurine was produced in synthetic resin after the client's approval.
The idea was that the resin made black monkeys would be given away to the clients and acquantances of Monkey Wrench as a souvenir. The bigger monkey (3:1), which was carved separately in soapstone, would be given as special trophies.
Thank You!
