Zine; A Muder Case - Solved by Vultures

Approach
For this project, I had chosen a TED radio hour segment about using the feeding behaviors of vultures to help solve murder cases. This project required I fit the tone of the radio segment's morbid yet scientific curiosity, while not being overly intensive or off the walls about it. I chose a more modern and sleek color palette of black and white, with bright red or accents, while not trying to invoke the idea of "blood" to an obnoxious degree. I chose to add in large drop letters to keep an artistic and dynamic movement throughout the piece. I added large V's in the background of many pages, both to stand for "vulture" as well as invoking the vague shape of a bird flying. I added these v's at an angle, as to not confuse them for drop letters. I allowed the large lettering and on occasion images to break from the frame, adding more to that visual interest throughout the piece. The same reasoning applies to the occasional line or two being placed sideways along the columns. It helps to take into account the tone of interest and and amazement in the radio segment, rather than just keeping it completely serious and monotonous.
