Big idea: Flowers in the city (Hoa trong phố)
In Vietnamese culture, “nature”, and “rural” are words that usually go with "flower", while “city” definitely stitches with “modernism”, and “technology”. The clear contrast of "flowers in the city" shows an interesting relationship, which can also be seen in “Handicraft in the contemporary context." These flowers have been silently taken care of by the passionate hand of a Vietnamese craftsman.
By infusing different handicrafts that Vietnamme selected for this project into the key visual, our audience is being introduced to a familiar yet strange representation of the things they once assumed were “old-fashioned”
Tò He (Con Giống Bột)
Tò he (toy figurine) or con giống bột is a traditional toy for children in Vietnam that is made from glutinous rice powder in the form of edible figurines such as animals, flowers, or characters in folk stories.
Tranh Đông Hồ
Tranh Đông Hồ (Đông Hồ painting) is considered a fine reflection of traditional aesthetic values, social philosophies, and humanitarian desires. The traditional themes of Đông Hồ painting are good luck signs, historical figures, folk allegories, popular stories, and social commentaries.
The last stage of making a Đông Hồ painting is printing. One artwork requires several woodblocks which are carved for each of the colors later be used in the painting and then will be pressed on a sheet of paper like a stamp. The process is separately repeated with different colors in a specific order until the craftsman is satisfied with the painting.
Bánh Đậu Xanh Trái Cây

Mặt Nạ Giấy Bồi (Planning)
Mặt nạ giấy bồi (papier-mâché mask) seems to be just an entertainment item in the festival for children. However, the images on the mask reflect clear cultural messages.
Diều (planning)
Diều (kite) is a precious childhood memory of many Vietnamese children. Whenever there are colorful kites in the sky, we are reminded of our childhood days.
