We face a flawed justice system, upholding the race and wealth divide. Crimes marked with a fine are irrelevant to the rich, and bails only leave incarceration for the poor. There are many stories of the privileged escaping proper punishment, as well as those of minorities who face harsher criticism than their counterparts. However, these exposed cases are only a tiny fraction of the reality of this injustice. Lady Justice alone shines, but she does not meet the spotlight with the same power and grace she was always portrayed as. She holds a weak grip on her sword, the power that enforces her command. Her defeated expression, the tilted scale, and the loosened blindfold highlight the loss of the impartiality that once defined her.
