This series began as an experiment for Materials & Techniques II, but I ended up liking the process/technique so much that I've recently returned to it. The top one was inspired by the shapes that cells make under a microscope -- I thought the patterns were so intriguing & perfect for watercolor. The bottom two also contain elements of cellular formations & plantlife. This time, however, I introduced the concept of painting with fruit -- making patterns with cherries, strawberries, & raspberries, in particular.
