I was recently revamping my Instagram profile when I noticed something interesting: my work didn't really line up with how I view it in my head.
That's not to say it was bad, it just felt dated. It didn't feel like who I consider myself to be as an artist today. One of the big disparities was the lack of colored lighting. For the past few years I've been shooting a lot of motion work and I use RGB LEDs in a lot of that work. It's become a big part of how I think about light today.
But looking at my stills work, none of that was coming through. This project is the first of what will be an ongoing series to bring my work on paper up to where it already is in my head.
